Freebies! Who wants FREE Photoshop Actions?

Here's what the B/W High Key action will give you:

The header of this blog was also done using the B/W High Key action. I've used it many times. It's fun to run the action and then drag the black and white image over the top of the same image in color and lower the opacity of the b/w image. It will result in a very cool look.

Here's the result you will get with the Dreamy action:

Click the images to open up a new window with a larger viewing size.

This may not have been the best photo for the before/after, but you see what it does. This action is good for wedding photography or dressy events or perhaps a little girl in a field of flowers. You get the point. Also, I created these actions in PSCS2, but I have used them in PSCS3, as well. I can't say whether they'll work in 4 as I just don't have it to try. If you try it and find out please let me know if it's a ya or nay.

You don't have to give me credit if you don't want to do so, but please don't take the credit yourself if any credit is given. ;-) That's just not nice.

If you want to show me your work just leave a link to your uploaded photo in the comments section. I'd really love to see what you can do with the actions.

How To Post A Blog Entry

Here are the instructions I promised on how to post an entry on our blog. Keep in mind that first you have to be invited to be an author and accept the invitation. Let me know if you'd like to be listed as an author to help represent us. ;-)

1. Go to http://www.blogger.com/
2. Sign in. Use your Gmail Address and password.
3. You will then be at your "Dashboard, which looks like this:

4. Click on "POST". (You'll see the red arrow is pointing to it above)
5. Then you will see the following screen:

The red arrow is pointing to the box to click on for inserting images into your posts. You can click and drag images anywhere once you see it in your post.
6. After you're done typing up your post you click on the orange button that says, "Publish Post".
That's all! Easy Peasy!

Feel free to do a "Test Post" if you'd like.

I will also type up instructions on the more detailed issues of posting if you all would like for me to do that.

Hugs,
Rischa

This is our 10-month old cat who weighs about 15 pounds! I put a rose on the table to see what he would do, and I got this shot, which is my favorite photo of him. I used Photoshop to intensify the color of the rose, which was a very light pink. And I cloned out an out-of-focus leaf at the edge of the table, carefully aligning the grain of the wood.

My Aqua Challenge Entry

I decided to post my entry into the current challenge. It was an Aqua Challenge. (Joel's idea) Here's my entry:
This is an older photo that I took of one of my Mom's friends out behind my parents' house. I duplicated the image and ran one of my old b/w actions on the duplicate. Then I dragged the b/w image over the top of the color image and changed the b/w layer transparency to 60% to give it the color you see. Other than that I selected around the subject with a 20% feather, inverted, added a slight blur, modified>contracted 20px>repeat blur. The background needed a little separation from the subject. I think that's about it? I did this a week ago, so the details are getting fuzzy now.

Welcome to the PhPh Blog!

This is a blog where the members of the Photoshop Phemales group will post about Photoshop related topics and show off their latest and greatest creations. Anything and everything Photoshop will be discussed by different authors.

My name is Rischa. I founded the group in 2007 for female Photoshop users to gather in a small, friendly atmosphere. We do tutorials & challenges, we chat, we critique, we play, etc...

Here's is the group's home page if you're interested in joining or just checking out the page:

We also have a seldomly used (except for chat) Ning network:

Requirements for the group:
  • Must be female
  • Must speak English
  • Must participate bi-monthly
  • Must play well with others

We have a 25 member limit, so don't get your feelings hurt if we turn you away for that reason. Although, right now we have new openings.

That's it for the first post. Stay tuned!
